The design and trialling of Maxtrans Transportable Units has been led by the company’s principal, Mr Peter Max.

Peter Max has the soul of an entrepreneur. He’s created and led successful businesses that were leaders in their field. Peter has extensive experience in managing building projects. He brings to Maxtrans the same dedication, determination and business savvy he gives to every project he undertakes. His motto “Do what you love; money is the by-product of doing it well.”

Right from the start, Peter was determined that Maxtrans would produce the BEST and the CHEAPEST transportable units available anywhere in the world. Not only that, Maxtrans customers would have a selection of options to meet their needs and budgets.

That wasn’t easy!

Finding a team of design engineers who would think outside the square was a challenge, right from the start! Peter isn’t fond of being told “it can’t be done”! He’s definitely a “can be done and we’ll find a way” sort of person.

Developing Maxtrans Transportable Units involved challenges like:

• Keeping the price down,
• Ensuring ease of assembly. Simplicity was the key throughout the development process,
• Locating sturdy materials that wouldn’t be too heavy or bulky,
• Creating designs for roomy 1, 2 or 3 bedroom units,
• Developing a 3 bedroom, 2 storey inner urban townhouse model which is way ahead of its time and amazingly inexpensive,
• Developing packages that offered customers a range of options, including the choice of purchasing all or part of the total unit – all fittings, some fittings, or no fittings,
• Even creating special units for cyclone, termite or bushfire prone areas.
